June 2003
In the winter months of June, July and August we spent time on the implementation of storage vacillates. In photo one the cool room,
that has been built under the house, had the shelving installed by John. To encourage some very late winter crops during June,
a cloche was built, visible in photo 2. Also a new 1000ltr water tank was installed behind the shed.
The original compost heap, which sat on the west fence, next to the shed, was distributed into the raised beds, and spread out around
the shed to help establish some new beds. Photo 1 shows the grating on the shed wall, to be used for a rose trellis, and the bed
around the shed. Photo 2 shows the rockery being built around the fence and council land, which we share with our neighbor.
On the council land I replanted the conifers and box hedge in this bed, that were originally from the front yard. The front yard is
currently under re-design/construction.
During June we started to hear the frogs that had arrived in our bathtub and
tire ponds. Photo 3 is a picture of what we think is the common
tree frog.
