The front yard had extensive landscaping and planting on the south side of the property. The bed at the front of the property, the bed around the driveway and steps around these beds, were all completed during autumn

The autumn-winter crops were planted in either permanent beds around the garden or in the south side raised beds. The crops consisted of lettuce, brassicas, kale, onions, garlic, potato, chicory, broad beans, parsnip and parsley.  This season, rather than green manure crop all the north side raised beds, we put straw on the raised beds, already chook tractored and that will be used during spring, and green manure cropped the holding bed, underneath the crab apple tree.
