The bed around the south side and front of the driveway was completed during winter. To fill this bed we made several compost heaps in the bed,
and transported dirt from areas on the property where it was not needed. Steps were at the corner of the driveway, near the front door. Not in view in photo one
is another small, triangular shaped, bed on the other side of the steps. This finishes at the north corner of the driveway.
Using bricks that were on the property, and have been since we purchased the place, John built a retaining wall at the end of the front south bed. (photo 2)
Steps coming from the driveway, lead onto the path beside the retaining wall. At the end of the brick retaining wall I have cemented in rocks.
Photo 3 shows the bed from the roof. The rock bed will continue down to the edge of the front balcony.
