The area in front of the bedroom window was cleared and the ground leveled . A large hole for the tire pond was dug, and the tank water placed into the pond. Towards the end of winter diachondra, a native lawn, was planted on the south side of the garden.

During winter the crops grew slowly on the south side of the fence.

Some of the manure crop growing, on the top north bed, included lettuce and silver beet.  I transplanted some of these seedlings around the garden during winter.

Towards the end of winter, John built a cold frame, so we can plant our spring crops before the end of the frost period. The material he used was purchased from the local second hand dealer.

This amazing garden is where I grew up. My father was an avid gardener, and the property always looked different year to year.  My mother now maintains the garden.

I have added it to my web site as a place of interest.
